BATTLEFORDS ALLIED ARTS COUNCIL was the first arts council in Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1962 by Connie Tubb, Laura Logie and Dorothy Boyd.  Working as committed volunteers, they shared their love of the arts with the growing community by helping to establish gallery spaces, encouraging artists and art lovers and by bringing exciting performances to the community.

The Chapel Gallery is and has been honoured to showcase artwork that has been donated to the City of North Battleford over the years by BAAC

The main purpose of BAAC is to support the Arts in the Battlefords through scholarships and grants:

-Educational activities

-Guest artist programs

-Special Arts events

-Arts Collection

Applications for funding will be accepted May 1st and Novemeber 1st of each year for consideration.

Budget should show 50% (min) as self generated revenue. Funds will be awarded as BAAC budget allows.

Eligibility Criteria:

-Visual Art, Literary Art, Performing Arts, Media Arts

- Must be a resident of North Battleford or a student in a North Battleford school.

-Should have an educational component, or contribute t professional / artistic growth.

-Available to student / educator / artists -both professional and amateur

In the event that your application is successful you will be required to:

-Acknowledge the Battlefords Allied Arts Council on PR material such as programs, posters, news articles, etc.

-Submit a final report outlining the success of the event and final budget.
